Each year, Pantone releases their colour of the year, and this often affects product development and buying decisions. We often see the colour displayed in home accessories, clothing, industrial design, packaging, and graphic design.
The selection process focuses on trend analysis for the upcoming year – Pantone’s colour experts at the Pantone Colour Institute gather and explore new colour influences to decide the selection of the all-important winner.
The colour of 2022 is Very Peri
Very Peri is thought of as happy and warm compared to other blue hues, assisting us in embracing new possibilities and opening ourselves up to a new vision post-Covid. The colour brings connotations of playful freshness.
The versatile shade is suited to different materials and textures, whether introduced through gift bags or home accessories it is a guaranteed pop of colour even to the most minimalist items.
We must admit, unlike previous years, the use of Very Peri has been considerably sparse. However, we have seen it used in various Y2K campaigns. What are your predictions for Pantone Colour of the Year for 2023? It’s anticipated that Terracotta or Digital Lavender might take the spotlight, but we’re not sure!
