New year, new business? Every brand needs these components for a successful brand image…

It’s critical to master essential visual elements if you want to develop a clear, inventive, and consistent brand identity. What draws you in when you’re looking for products online or in-store? One of the biggest things is what you see, hear, and read; this is also known as brand identity.

What is a brand identity?

All your brand’s visual components, including your logo, colours, typefaces, patterns, photos, and more, make up your brand identity. Together, these elements help you stand out from other businesses, communicate your brand’s message, draw in your ideal clients, and be instantly recognisable in the marketplace.

The following six components are essential for every brand to have to develop a successful brand identity:

Logo

You’ll better understand your messaging and logo vision if you can identify your ideal client and target market.

Learn the colours, symbols, typefaces, and layouts that your rivals use by researching them and making a mood board of all their logos. This will show you how to stand out visually while maintaining your industry associations.

Your design will be directly influenced by the location where you intend to use your logo. Maybe you’re a business owner who wants to put your logo on signage, merchandise, and T-shirts.

Or maybe you have a consulting firm, and your logo will be used primarily online, on your website, landing pages, and social media accounts. Consider the most important applications and the type of logo that will stick out.

Fonts

The use of typography is crucial in design. It conveys both your name and your personality in addition to that – there are three different types of fonts to choose from: sans-serif, serif and script!

A sans serif typeface, such as Ariel or Century Gothic, is essentially any font that doesn’t contain little dashes at the end of each letter (unlike Times New Roman, which has). Sans serif fonts are more contemporary and tidier.

Serif fonts are traditional and professional, like Times New Roman. Select a serif font if you want to convey a conventional, business-like vibe. But take care—especially on a website, it could feel outdated.

Script fonts can be challenging. They are very personable and can be creative, formal, or informal. They can, however, be very challenging to read – make sure you’re consistent with whichever font style you choose…

Imagery

When it comes to conveying your vision, beliefs, and voice to your audience, imagery is a crucial component of your brand identity. Setting up a direction for your photography and videography can help you develop your identity and effectively communicate your business.

Illustrations and graphics

Illustrations, patterns, icons, and textures are just a few examples of the graphic components that combine to form a unified brand identity.

While graphics and symbols can be used to elevate information or add personality to your brand, patterns and textures can be utilised for packaging, social media backgrounds, website elements, and more.

A colour palette

Colour is a powerful tool for expressing your brand’s identity, attracting your target market, and spreading your message since it transmits a lot of meaning. We advise selecting no more than three primary colours for your main marketing.

Distinctive packaging

The first impression your consumers, clients, or distributors will have of your business is frequently it’s the packaging. As a result, you have a great chance to market your business and maintain your professional reputation.

Traditional packaging focuses on protecting your product during delivery, but if you take additional time to create a useful, high-end box, it can offer more convenience and increase the value of your product.

Although creating bespoke boxes may appear to be a straightforward task, packaging serves SEVEN major purposes, you can find out more in detail here.
